Tuesday December 13th, YouRiding team rider Pierre-Louis Costes, 21 years old, became the IBA 2011 Mens World Champion of bodyboarding by defeating Jared Houston in quarter-final of the Fronton Pro, Canary Islands.

After a quiet start to the 2011 tour (5th place at the Pipeline Pro, 9th place at the Box Pro and Arica Challenge), PLC finished big in the second half of the year with a lot of high-level performances (3rd at the Zicatela Pro, 3rd at the Reunion Pro, 1st at the Encanto Pro and 3rd at the Fronton Pro) to claim the IBA world title.

“Pierre-Louis deserves the tour victory this year” said YouRiding Marketing Manager, Tom Casamayou. “He was ripping on every type of waves during the tour second-half. He showed this a young age great skills for bodyboarding, but he also trained so hard to be on top of the world. We are stoked to have him as an ambassador of our game and are really proud of him!”

To celebrate PLC title, we have created a video clip featuring the highlights of his 2011 tour that you can watch here:  YouRiding GAMES TV

YouRiding IV // UPDATE: the CHALLENGES mode reviewed, corrected AND improved!

This weekly update focuses on easing the acces to the CHALLENGES multiplayer game mode.
MORE CHALLENGES THANKS TO THE NEW DISPLAY SYSTEM!

--

Last October 4th, YouRiding IV was released with its new multiplayer game mode called CHALLENGES.

Quick follow-up on the concept: a CHALLENGE is a 10 players max, one group, competition where the 2 best waves out of 10 are counted. The Reputation system indicates the level of each player in CHALLENGES. The number of Reputation points won or lost in a CHALLENGE depends on your ranking at the end as well as the Reputation level of your opponents: with this system, a beginner won’t lose many points if beaten by a top level player!

Today, the CHALLENGES are easier to access. When you arrive on a surf spot screen, you are automatically notified if:
+ players are waiting for opponents to start a CHALLENGE,
+ several players are currently surfing this same surf spot and could CHALLENGE each other.

It’s up to you to decide if you are ready to accept the CHALLENGE!
